Skreets Of SF
Wow I haven't updated in 2 weeks and lots has happened since then! I'm still here in San Francisco! And it's been amazing walking the streets of San Fran. The people aren't the nicest but I don't think I've ever had as much fun as a missionary as I do in the city!
A week and a half ago i got a new companion Elder Walthuis who is a brand new missionary from Utah! He's a visa waiter learning Dutch so he can go to the Netherlands! He's a beast. I keep forgetting he's a brand new missionary because he knows the doctrine well and isn't scared to go out there and preach to the people! Sf is a crazy place for a green missionary to be but He's killing it. We do a lot of street contacting finding a lot of times near or in golden gate park or around Haight and Ashbury street because there's always so many people walking around. Lots of tourists too. And surprisingly a lot of confrontational ex-members! But also some of the sweetest people I've ever talked to.
I had opportunities to go on exchanges with elders in my district which were amazing. There's one elder in my district who literally pre-mission was like the same person as me! We came out on the mission for a lot of the same reasons which is really cool! He really inspired me bc his mom runs the BIGGEST ANTI MORMON PODCAST out of Utah! Which is wild because he is the hardest working elder I've ever seen and his family is actively trying to destroy others faith. While he is diligently working to convert souls to Jesus Christ. It was a big eye opener to me and he has the deepest faith I've ever seen and he shows the promise of Helaman 5:12 in action. And I had another cool exchange in China town with an amazing elder named Elder Christensen who also has one of the most inspiring stories ever. China town was also super cool. Chinese people are definitely not open to the gospel but when they are open to it. They progress really fast and usually stay the strongest members!
We've been also teaching a lot of really amazing people in our area! It's amazing how the lord has inspired so many people to reach out to us via online ads. Because we get a lot of them and they are all searching for truth it's so cool! We have also been teaching this kid named Max who is like a baseball prodigy! Brother already has like every D1 offer. But all he wants to do is follow Jesus Christ and be baptized! I'm glad the lord has used my talents and baseball knowledge to be able to connect with max! We already been throwing the baseball together once a week and teaching him everything he needs to know! He accepted baptism and is scheduled for March 1st! We are so hyped! Everyone keep praying for max! He's amazing!
Recently I've had a lot of old prayers answered which has been a huge tender mercy. I know God hears our prayers and answers them in his perfect timing. I thought he wasn't gonna answer some of my prayers bc it wasn't in his will to do so. But he answered in his due time and I'm just happy and filled with peace. Don't forget to pray...he wants to hear from you! :)
