Across The Bridge

Wow lots has happened since ive last sent an email but let me give the rundown!

Transfers!! Sadly after the past 6 months i had to say goodbye to the Oakland 1st ward and Elder Patterson. I loved Oakland and the many opportunities, friendships and lifelong relationships i was able to make while being there! Shout out to Sister Alford! She was one of the most goated members ive met! I loved hearing all the testimonies of the members in the 1st ward! I will miss it so much!

San fran!! Now new beginnings!! I finally got to cross the bridge and make it to the big city! My new assignment is to the sunset ward (west side of sf) with my new companion Elder Gifford. I am now a District leader so no more ZL life!!! Phew! Jk I loved being a ZL but I'm grateful for the new opportunities! But this new assignment I have is honestly really about my new companion. I'm not going to get too into it but there's a reason ive been assigned this new companion. There's lots of Growth ahead of him and I love my new comp so so much! We get along really well and ive loved getting to know him! But this transfer will be a big learning experience for me I'm so grateful to have it!

Our new area is also GOREGEOUS! we are just right out the dangerous and gross parts of the city so all the pretty areas you see in the pictures are where my new area is!! We also have the beach in our area! Beach finding fr! We also are white washing a sisters area and let's just say it's interesting. Lots of creepy dudes who reach out to these sisters. Let's just say ive gained lots of respect for the sisters these past few days. Shout out Sister Burton your reports are hilarious!

But as ive been in this new assignment and new area I honestly have been relying on the lord so so much through prayer and study. Never in my life have I been so stressed yet so comforted by the spirit in an assignment. I'm thankful for the lords peace and guidance!

Been reading first Nephi from our mission bom read. I love the beginning of ch 18 where Nephi is constantly conversing and having to rely on the lord to build the ship. He constantly humbled himself and took the lords way even when it was extremely hard with lots of opposition! I'm grateful for the scriptures and the righteous patterns it teaches us!!!

I love you all!! Don't be shy and send me an email!

Love Elder Newman!
