This Week Was Sick
This week was sick....literally. We got sick. But that's OK we learned so much this week! Definitely relied on the lord this week and he low key magnified our efforts!
First to start this week we had transfers! Luckily me and my comp Elder Patterson are staying together!! But we did have to move apartments to an apartment Into downtown Oakland near lake merrit. Which makes the commute into our area and to church wayyyy longer but we stay blessed with our mom van! Also our apartment comes with a crazy neighbor named Alice. Our mission president called us and told us bc of previous experiences with this lady we have to ignore her at all costs. He didn't get into details but to quote president Lash he said to treat her like " Danger, fire and poison" so that's a lovely welcome to our new apartment. And also a funny story we locked our keys in our apartment and I had to climb up the building to our 3rd floor apartment to go through the patio door. Haha it was an impressive feat!
Sorry that was all random but besides getting over our sickness this week we had a fire lesson with Cornell at the VC! The guy who's already read most the bom!! And we are thinking about inviting him to be baptized soon so please send prayers! We also had some random guy pull up to church that we met on the street. We didn't know how interested he really was but first guy in my whole mission who said he would come to church after writing the info down on a card for him. And he came! Crazy! He's from Eretria and speaks Tygrinia. So his English isn't great. And there's not a copy of the bom yet in his language. But me and Elder Patterson are determined to learn it to teach him!!
Spiritual thoughts from this week! Was reading in Alma 40 and 41 and just felt the strongest feelings of peace and comfort knowing we all will be resurrected. Also been dabling in ether and felt these verses from ether 12 could use some pondering!
33 And again, I remember that thou hast said that thou hast loved the world, even unto the laying down of thy life for the world, that thou mightest take it again to prepare a place for the children of men
41 And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen.
