Back In Gotham!

Hey Everyone!! Happy Monday! Wow a lot happened this past week where do I begin!

Well I left Oakley ward and the Antioch ysa
:(( It was a good past 6 months there I loved meeting everyone and literally made lifelong friendships so I'm so blessed! But I got transfered back to Oakland yay!!! Not the same ward I was in 6 months ago but I'm in the Oakland 1st ward! Which is more of the nicer parts of Oakland like Montclair and piedmont. But we still got a lot of the hood in my area which I'm very happy about! I loved everyone in Oakley but they just aren't as nice as the people in Oakland you meet on the street! Haha! I got a new companion too so I had to sadly say bye to Elder Allen which was tough because we were literally like brothers!! And I said goodbye to the best ysa member eduardo which was a tough one but we literally already have a bunch of plans to hangout after the mission so its all good! Also said bye to Peter who just got baptized! Sadly I wasn't able to be there bc I'm in Oakland but so happy he was able to be baptized!

My new companions name is Elder Terry from provo Utah! He's on his last transfer and he is literally just wanting to grind soooo hard it's insane!! He's already helping me so much just pushing myself and helping me be a better missionary!

We already had a lot of interesting interactions these past few days. I missed the Oakland craziness a little bit! We had an interesting sidequest the other day while our wind shield was being replaced. We walked down telegraph Ave. And found the chillest Buddhist homies. They just wanted to see what we believed and were so appreciative that we shared! We got a selfi  with them! Then we saw these people cleaning up a high-school and we said "can we help?" And they said sure come on in. Next thing I knew we were cleaning egg yolks off the windows of a high-school haha! Definitely a great week and start to the transfer so far!

In Oakland we are teaching this lady named Sirine who is literally the sweetest lady ever! She was just glowing when I met her. We were making her Baptismal program with her and she had 12 total songs she wanted sung at her baptism! We will try to get it down to at least 8 hopefully haha! She's the sweetest lady I've ever met!

Spiritual thought comes from a fire book I started reading by Henry B Eyring called 'Choose higher ground' (shoutout whoever sent me this book for my bday there wasn't a name on it so lmk who sent it!!) But in the book it's main message is about making better choices each day wether is means choosing to be optimistic or choosing to follow the lord more closely or just choosing higher ground. I love in the book it said

"Hard as things seem today, they will be better in the next day if you choose to serve the lord this day with your whole heart. Your circumstances may not be improved in all the ways which you desire. But you will have been given new strength to carry your burdens and a new confidence that when your burdens become too heavy, the lord whom you have served, will carry what you cannot."

What a beautiful way to apply the enabling power of the atonement in our every day lives! Serving the lord is simply a choice we can make. When we serve others and uplift others we are in the service of the lord. You can choose to serve the lord through your jobs, schooling, and all your tasks of daily life! I invite everyone to think what more can they do to choose to serve the lord this day! I know it can help!

Love you all! Hope you all are doing well! Please reach out if you can! I'll try my best to respond!
